After playing Hacky Sack for about 5 years, I discovered footbag in 1985 when I first arrived on campus at UC Berkeley and met Brent Welch, Bill Langbehn, and several other on Sproul Plaza. They invited me to their kicking sessions and introduced me to net, freestyle and footbag tournaments.

Since then, I've been to footbag tournaments every year, including 20 World Footbag Championships - mostly in the US, but also Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, and Poland.
